SELECTION
The Stonery occupies a 20,000 square foot facility stocked with a huge selection of granites and other natural stones for your inspection. We house and disply both full-sized slabs as well as remnants, all of which are indoors and positioned for easy viewing. Our current stock of full-sized slabs, ready for fabrication, represents more than 65 different colors. Our remnant stock is extensive and priced to move. Slabs and remnants combined, a single visit to The Stonery will provide you with an opportunity to see roughly 100 different colors of natural stone.
No appointments are necessary Monday through Friday. No pressure, yet very qualified, sales personnel anxious to be of service. We're open most Saturdays until noon (or so), but it is best to call ahead on the weekend. |

Why Choose The Stonery?
We won't try to tell you we're "the best." We have many outstanding competitors. Are all granite countertop companies created equal? No, and there are way too many hacks and/or simple brokers that call themselves granite companies. Are we different than most? Yes. Are we really, really good at what we do? Yes. Will we deliver the most for your money? Absolutely.
Below is an unsolicited thank you note from one of our customers, dated December 12, 2008. While it would be dishonest to say that all of our customers have been this thrilled with our work, the vast majority are quite complimentary of our work and our service, not to mention our price.

Words cannot adequately express how proud I am of the work you have done. Your product has put the final jewel in our crown!
I think you have been "Top Notch"!! All the way around! From beginning to end! From initial contact (Kristal is super friendly), quoting (great pricing), incredible follow-up (better than anyone we have dealt with on anything!), templating (state of the art equipment! No taping together construction paper!), design assistance (Molly is terrific), timeliness (turn-around is unsurpassed), quality of work, dedication of you and your staff is exemplary, all the way to completion and follow-up! You have great people working for you -- every aspect has exceeded our expectation. All of your people are kind, considerate, knowledgeable, helpful and professional -- which is very uncommon! YOU ACTUALLY DO WHAT YOU SAY and follow through on a job exceptionally well!!!!! Wow!!!!
On our (2-1/2 year) project (a 12,000 sq.ft., 85 year old down-town condemned building) we had many predicaments and processes that most don't encounter while building or remodeling -- therefore, we have worked with a lot of different sub-contractors and trades, at great lengths, within this time. So, suffice it to say, I can adequately assess a good company from a bad one! And you exceed them all!!!
My humble thanks can't relay my gratitude - but please know how genuinely happy The Stonery has made us.
Wishing you the Merriest Christmas!!
Sincerely,
Sherri Spencer

Granite countertops are cut and polished using large quantities of water. The Stonery has invested more than $50,000 in state-of-the-art water recycling technologies from Beckart Environmental. We think it's responsible.
Unfortunately, most of our competitors are simply not willing to spend the money. They seem to be content being water hogs AND discharging the waste water out the back of their buildings. Many granite and marble fabricators attempt to restrict their water usage by processing their granite countertops, and especially their marble countertops, without the use of ample water. These companies are more than likely subjecting their employees to harmful amounts of stone dust that can lead to the untreatable disease silicosis.
When shopping for stone countertops, please take a moment to ask each fabrication company about their environmental and occupational safety policies. It is truly important.

While many of our competitors claim to be "the best," it is The Stonery that has a proven track record of setting itself apart. As far as those fabricators claiming to be "the best," they're living in a fantasy world. The fact of the matter is that there are roughly 100 stone fabricators in the Charlotte metro area, and many do very good granite work. "The Best" is a baseless claim worthy of great suspicion. Let the buyer beware! In fact, in the granite business "the best" usually equates to one of two things: (a) "give me more of your money for no good reason," or (b) "I'll be more than happy to tell you what you want to hear."
In addition to those claiming to be the best, there are also granite "fabricators" working out of barns with little more than hand-saws hacking away at what could be your new kitchen countertops, others simply piecing together individual prefabricated tops from China or some other far away place, and others that contract out either the fabrication and/or installation of your job.
These are the days of value. The Stonery believes that value equals Quality Work and Good Service at a Great Price. We may not be the absolute lowest priced around, but it is our goal to be the lowest priced of the reputable fabricators in the Charlotte metropolitan region.
The Stonery invites you to personally visit our facility and compare us to our competition. We are confident you will come away impressed with our operation, our abilities, and our prices. |
