Located inside of the Charlotte Metropolitan Statistical Area, and not far from the Triad region, The Stonery is fortunate to have multiple large importers of natural stone within a relatively short drive.  This close proximity to our wholesale import suppliers allows our customers to have an extraordinary selection of granite, marble, and other natural stones from which to choose.

While The Stonery does keep a good but not overwhelming offering of stone in inventory (forty or so different colors of full slab groupings, each grouping sufficient for a moderate sized kitchen, plus countless remnants of various colors), the fact of the matter is that our customers have the ability to inspect and select from huge stores of materials housed in our 20,000 square foot facility and/or our supplier's facilities. 


When shopping for natural stone it is critical to remember that you're looking for, in no uncertain terms, that perfect rock for your project.  It is an inescapable truth that rocks are a product of nature that vary from quarried block to quarried block, and to a certain extent slab to slab.  These natural variations make it imperative that you personally inspect the materials you've chosen for your project.  In addition to those of workmanship, expectations with regard to materials is what your project is all about.
 
Another point of fact to keep in mind during your search is that the substantial growth of the natural stone business over the last decade has basically turned the granites, marbles, travertines, and limestones with which we work into commodities. In other words, it is simple supply and demand that dictates price and availability. Regardless of the company you ultimately choose to work with, make sure that your expectations are consistent with that of the fabrication company.  Disapointment awaits those that assume anything.
