Each project to be quoted by The Stonery consists of three basic components... Materials, Fabrication, and Installation. Upon submitting a rough drawing of your countertop area, you will need to select the stone(s) and the edge detail(s) that you wish to have estimated, as well as specify the appliances, sinks, and other job details. Accurate estimations cannot be provided without all of this information. The three job components are detailed below:

Materials
|
|
Our basic approach to pricing materials is on a square foot basis. Since there is a wide range of prices associated with stones of different kinds, The Stonery cannot begin to estimate a project without being given direction regarding the stone, or stones, of choice. This is not to say that final decisions must be made at this stage of the process. Actually, we’re more than happy to estimate multiple stones in order to provide options if needed; and there are cases where a customer will accept an estimate related to a particular material, paying the required deposit to get the project started, only to change the material selection during the material approval process. In short, we need you to make a material selection in order for us to estimate your job, but The Stonery wants you to be ecstatic with your countertops, thus if you feel that you need to change your selection before fabrication begins, then we’ll work with you so that you may do so.

Fabrication
|

Pricing related to fabrication encompasses all of the specific details of your job. The particulars of fabrication include those of…
(a) appliances, (b) sinks, (c) irregular shapes, (d) backsplashes, and (e) edge details.
“The Devil’s in the details” most definitely applies here. Many fabricators will advertise what seems to be a great price, only to switch the bait upon hooking the potential customer. When comparing prices between fabricators, please pay special attention to the details of fabrication, making sure that you’re comparing fabricators on an equal “apples to apples” basis. We are more than confident that The Stonery will compare favorably when all details are equal.
